乍ら族

ながらぞく [nagarazoku] – Refers to people who habitually listen to radio or watch television as they study/work.

This word came to be in 1959 when a medical professor at a Japanese university coined 『ながら神経症』. Originally, it had a negative connotation akin to “young people who can’t concentrate,” but nowadays the common belief is that multitasking one’s attention is a desirable quality.
