my son, age 17, would like to travel to south korea to imerse himself in go. Ideally i would like hime to have a well rounded visit there, cultural, history, and art – can you direct me to organizations of people who could help me organize such a visit?

Go is much deeper than shogi or chess. The rules are simple, yet the game defies logical analysis.

Capturing your opponent’s stones is not the goal… aggression is self-defeating. The flow of the game, reversals in sente and gote, can turn on a dime.

After playing go for a while, chess starts to feel like checkers. It’s almost trivial to read the situation on a chess board and make a move almost instantly.

@ Keith: I am interested in Shogi, but haven’t actually tried it. Been too enthralled in Go to consider splitting my mental resources. Probably will someday, though
