マメ知識
まめちしき [mame chishiki] – ‘knowledge beans‘ is the Japanese equivalent of the word trivia–quaint little facts about things (マメ = 豆). And no, the fact doesn’t have to be about beans.
Another similar word is 雑学 [zatsugaku] which means basically “miscellaneous education”.
I think the word mamechishiki can also be interpreted as ‘fun facts’.
